Gas Engineer
JRS – Abergele
Bangor University Contract
£40,000–£45,000 per annum
We looking for an experienced Gas Engineer to join its existing gas team, working across an educational estate.
The contract covers approximately 50 buildings across North Wales. You will work alongside other Gas Engineers, carrying out a varied mix of commercial gas, domestic gas and plumbing work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Responding to reactive maintenance and breakdowns
- Gas testing and purging
- Gas and plumbing installations
- Commissioning gas systems and equipment
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs
- Completing approximately 90% commercial and 10% domestic work
- Working safely and professionally across the university estate
- Accurately completing all relevant job documentation
Working Hours
- 38 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- On site from 8:00am
- Finish at 4:05pm
Salary and Benefits
- £40,000–£45,000 per annum
- Company van
- Some personal use of the van permitted
- No tracker
- 20 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
- After five years’ service, one additional day of annual leave is awarded each year, up to 15 years’ service
- Larger and specialist tools provided
Tools Required
The successful candidate will need to provide their own:
- Standard hand tools
- Basic power tools
Larger tools and equipment will be provided.
The Role
This is a permanent opportunity to join a small, established gas team working across a large and varied university estate. It would suit an engineer who is comfortable carrying out both gas and plumbing duties and enjoys a mixture of planned, reactive, installation and commissioning work.
